With each sunrise, there is a new day. Each spring, a new season. Each birthday, a new year. All a sense of renewal for reflection to appreciate the present and forge ahead. March 12 marks the 105th birthday of Girl Scouts, making wishes upon extinguished candles since 1912. For the last 100 of those birthdays, Girl Scouts has celebrated with the unequivocal cookie and its unparalleled program of financial literacy. And for over 80 of those anniversaries, Camp Widjiwagan has carried on the cherished traditions of Girl Scouts, especially around a campfire. This recent sunrise at Widji was captured just behind the new LRS Leadership Center where a new patio with a fire circle is to be ensconced. Whether rise or set, it is the view that girls will witness for many days, seasons and years to come. Pave the way anew for these next trailblazers.
